Rag and Beau started as ideas gathered together by listening to the people around me. My family and friends encouraged me to put in one place the best of beauty therapy and fashion services. A place where you can have you fairy tale dress made or come to be rescued from those annoying spots which pop out on you nose just before a big date. That is how Rag and Beau was born in late 2008. Within a year our Lee Green based tailoring and beauty studio has grown big and strong, extending seamstress services and skincare to the entire Southeast London area. Now we have a great loyal costumer base from all of the London, Kent and Surrey regions. To all of our customers a big thank you and it has been pleasure to work with you making Rag and Beau into what it is today. The team around me has now grown to include some really talented people in fashion and beauty. With these new members Rag&Beau has been able to successfully branch out into new areas such as Made to Measure suits, Wedding Dresses, Ball Room & Latino Dancers costumes, Professional Alterations and extended Beauty services. But! Nothing would be possible without our team of professional seamstresses, designers and beauticians! Please meet the team: Irena - Designer, Dress maker, Seamstress Irena has years of experience creating wedding dresses and ballroom gowns. She is able to design, cut pattern and finish your dream dress with the finest seams. She has been running and developing her dress making skills for various companies in New York including working with AD Cature New York which are renowned for producing and designing dresses for professional dancers. Irena’s expertise extends to tailoring, alteration and clothes repairs, specialising in wedding dresses, bridesmaid’s dresses and professional dancer’s costumes alterations. Irene has also been making sample dresses for students in fashion design and she gain a good reputation with many loyal customers’ recommendations. Whatever you wish to design we can make your wedding dress, alter to fit existing gown or help with alterations to the clothes you need to have new life inject into or simply alter to fit. Agnes- Bespoke Suits Designer, Tailor and Seamstress Agnes began her career in tailoring 20 years ago. Ever since she has been designing, cutting patterns and sowing tailored made to measure suits, shirts and jackets. Agnes style of tailoring is combination of modern as well as classic Savile Row style which offers comfort and a natural look. Apart from the bespoke fit, Agnes will try to encourage clients to demonstrate an expression of their personal style. In the past working with leading tailor studios and now with many years experience in hand finishing she can offer Rag and Beau costumers the finest bespoke tailoring available today. Agnes is always happy to work to a budget when choosing a style of suit and fabric. Via - Designer, Seamstress She is self taught and very inspired fashion designer who has been with me pretty much from the beginning of Rag and Beau. Spending her early years designing and sowing she has a great deal of practical experience to draw upon. Via has made many brides wedding dresses come true by working to a tiny budget. She is also enjoys creating fashion for everyday wear as well as special occasions extraordinary garments. From the beginning she been hands on in creating Rag and Beau- recycle fashion lines, which are not only unique but also fun to wear suitable for all those who like contemporary ideas and original styling. Clair - Beauty Therapist Clair has been in the beauty industry since age 16. She started her beauty career as a Saturday girl working with me in my first London Beauty Salon. Having a warm personality and great skills, Clare quickly worked her way up to become a fully qualified beauty therapist. She is now a beauty therapy teacher at Essex College. In the past she worked for one of worlds leading skincare brands - Dermalogica where she was working with public and celebrities from TV, film and festivals all over London. She has great knowledge and expertise in Dearmalogica Face Mapping, Full Body massage and Facials. She can advise you on skin care products and skin care routines for the best results you can hope for. Anna - Beauty therapist, Designer and Stylist. I have many years experience in skin care therapy with a strong background in Skin Peels, specialising in Dr Schrammek Green Peels. For many years I’ve been helping clients with specific skin conditions like acne, scars, pigmentation or sensitivity with great success in the alternatives remedies products like herbal peels, diet and specific skin care product to help you with your personal requirements. In the past I’ve opened and managed four different beauty salons in London and finally opened Rag& Beau in South east London. On the fashion side of a business, I have been mending, repairing and altering clothes since I can remember. Restructuring, recycling clothes for my friends always was one off my hobbies. That is how my adventure with creating unique, one off garments from vintage clothes started. I realise and respect how people can fall in love with their clothes and always will do my best to help extend the life of your favourite garments.
